Review Date: 12/12/2011 16:46PMWorx´s 1400 Watt Circular Saw was a surprise. First impression count so as the owner of many power tools the quality of this saw''s materials made me feel at ease immediately. Good plastics and well finished deck and housing. Easy to use and a good set of features with wide appeal make this a very good proposition to the handyman or tradesman looking for value. The power and spindle-lock some of my favourite features as a frequent blade changer on woods such as ironbark. All-in-all this saw clearly stands up to more expensive competing power tools.
Project Type:

- 1400 Watts of power
- Spindle lock for fast balde changes

Review Date: 24/11/2011 21:43PMOverall I was happy with the product ease of use and the power was excellent I cut a range of timber ranging from 42x35 for the cleats to 90x90 for the posts and 240x45 for the stringers when cutting the posts i had to make 2 cuts as the cutting depth was a maximum of 66mm and i needed to cut 90x90 posts but this was no big deal. The only problem i had was with the base plate bevel lock which didn´t tighten enough for my liking as i could move the base plate with moderate pressure when it should have been locked solid but again did not cause an issue.
Project Type:
I built steps from an entertaining area to the backyard lawn which consisted of 4 steps and a hand railing total height from lawn to pavers was 800mmTop 3 Features:
- quick and Easy depth and angle adjustments.
- Safety on switch in great spot when wanting to start and easy to press in
- Markings on front of base plate so you know were the blade is when cutting.

Review Date: 21/11/2011 11:54AMWith over 30 years experience in the DIY and home reno area, I have gone through quite a few "disposable tools", and in some cases had to resort to renting a professional level tool just to get a job finished. Why has it taken so long for someone to come up with an affordable, DIY level tool that simply does exactly what it is meant to do? It cut through the 200mm x 50mm hardwood sleepers like a hot knife through butter, and with the soft start function, the last cut was as easy on my wrist as the first.
Project Type:
1. Ornamental garden borders using 100mm x 25mm H4 pine. 2. Horizontal slat privacy screen using 90mm x 90mm H4 pine (two cuts needed) and 90mm x 19mm pine decking. 3. Vegetable garden beds using 200mm x 50mm hardwood sleepers.Top 3 Features:
- The soft start function makes this saw very easy and safe to use. Also, at 1400watts it has all the power that any DIY project could possibly require.
- Safety and operating instructions are very easy to read and loaded with practical information and sensible tips for both, the novice as well as the experienced DIY´er.
- Everything simply works as it should. Depth and angle of cut are easy to adjust, Blade removal and remounting took me less than one minute, and All handles and buttons are comfortable and easy to use.

Review Date: 21/11/2011 10:08AMQuite literally like a hot knife in butter.. With it´s soft start, comfortable grip, light weight, very flexible adjustments and ample power the Worx 1400 Watt circular saw is a DIY "must have". The soft start is a welcome feature to most circular saws reducing kick back and making sure that you’re not going to make an accidental cut. Coupled with a 1400 watt motor this unit will keep going no matter what you throw at it. It features a safety switch which will make sure that you don’t accidentally activate the unit whilst moving around or aligning it up for the next cut. A 66mm cutting depth means that even with the thickest projects you’ll still be able to make the deep cuts to keep you going. It’s light weight and aluminium construction makes sure that you won’t get "carpenter’s arm" limiting fatigue and lets you work faster, longer. Overall the Worx 1400 Watt circular saw is a fantastic light weight unit. Great for around the house and DIY projects.
Project Type:
Fence cutting, bench building, scrap timber breakdown.Top 3 Features:
- Soft start stops kickback and miss-cuts.
- Light weight construction means that you can work longer without fatigue.
- 1400watt motor and 66mm cutting depth means there´s no limit to what you can do.

Review Date: 18/11/2011 22:57PMWhat a cracker of a saw. Lightweight, well balanced and easy to use. The soft start made it even easier, the position of the safety catch suits both left and right handers (and if you´re left handed you know what Im talking about) but more importantly you can use it all day without any problems. The soft grip handle takes out the vibration so it doesnt feel like you need to hold on for dear life, and prolonged use doesnt result in the tingles you get in your hand with some other saws. Having been a "name brand" man in the past, I would have no hesitation in recommending this to not only the home handy man but the tradie as well.
Project Type:
Flooring - ripping down particle board flooring. Chipboard and particle board for shelving. 90x35 timber for cross cuts as opposed to getting out the hand saw or having to borrow a compound saw.Top 3 Features:
- The smooth start. I loved how it doesn´ft get that big kick start like many others, which makes it easier to sit the saw into place before starting, and you can start sawing much faster, without having to line yourself up again because the big kick threw you off.
- It may sound simple, but the handle. The safety start makes it easy for us left handers, and the shape and position of the handle makes it a very balanced unit.
- The guide that has a tape measure on it, the looks (everyone has commented on how great it looks), how light weight it is but yet durable, and the quality of the blade that comes standard is great. The speed with the blade had minimal to none of the burring that comes with cutting ply board.

Review Date: 17/11/2011 09:55AMHaving appreciated the opportunity to review the Worx 1400 Watt Circular Saw I have to conclude that it is excellent value for money. The average handyman could not beat it for value and certainly it´s performance I obtained in the review process. Like most circular saws it is a little difficult to see the depth of cut graduations but once used to them, certainly not a problem. Without checking against other brands I found the weight to be very reasonable and the balance is good which is essential if there is any quantity of cutting to be done. A bevel cut (45 degrees) was very accurate considering the nature of the bevel adjustment. Apart from a few trial cuts, I used the review to complete some plywood ripping (6mm and 10m) as well as some docking of 150mm and 200mm x 20 and 25mm boards required for a couple of a friends home projects, (kennel and some laundry cupboard and general refurbishment).
Project Type:
See aboveTop 3 Features:
- Probably value for money would be number one.
- Adequate power, balance and ease of use
- Bevel cut accuracy
